Adept deserves your attention - NOW!!!

ADEPT!!!

Swedish metalcore band Adept has been in the game for some time now, since 2004 to be exact. Yet it wasn't until their latest album release, Another Year Of Disaster, that these guys hit the scene for real. Singer Robert Ljung, with his soaring vocals and bloodcurdling growls, takes these melodic tunes to another level. And with guitar riffs from another world, this is one band to check out. With an already solid fanbase streched around the world, their music is destinctly nordic, and straight forward. No shittin around.

A well known fact, Sweden has produced great musicians for years. A band of fairly young men, bursting with energy, and the will to write supreme songs, such as recently released video for SHARK!SHARK!SHARK! As for the rest of the album, released February 4th 2009, the whole thing portrays a band with renewed power, and demonstrates why metal, and the swedish kind in particular, is so appealing. With much respect and recognition to their predecessors, they are still the band that spend massive effort and time to generate their own identity. Both soundwise and on the stage. Speaking of the latter, touring has played a large part in the last two years for the party-hardy fellas. With extencive song writing aswell, their live shows have been one after the other, and with characteristic in-your-face energy and the sence of merging with their audience. Interaction between the two, fans and artists, is magnificent. The enthusiasm with witch they perform is so vast, it easily spreads throughout the entire room, much like the funk that this mass of talented musicians and devoted fans creates.

But in the end, there is nothing more engaging than people who love what they do, and make no mistake about it, these guys love, LOVE, their shit. And they do it well.

BRING ME THE HORIZON - tour dates & club nights!!

BMTH will be making an in store appearance at Zavvi in Oxford Street (London) at 6pm on the 29th September to coincide with the release of 'Suicide Season'.

Our favourite northern lads have just come back from recently taking America by storm on the VANS WARPED TOUR 08! Playing packed out shows and bringing in new fans, the boys definitely made an impact across the pond.

The Kerrang Awards '08 proved an amazing welcome back to the UK for BMTH as they played a headline show at Camden Barfly as part of the mind-blowing Week of Rock line-up! The show in Camden wasn't the only show worth mentioning recently as BMTH also opened up main stage at Reading festival on Sunday. Pulling in huge crowds the boys managed to play a fantastic set, and ended up being a memorable last minute addition to the already amazing line-up!

With the release of their highly anticipated sophomore album 'Suicide Season' on the 29th September, BMTH are set to conquer Europe and the UK this October/November (see dates below). With support from bands such as Deez Nutz, The Red Shore, The Legacy and Dead Swans, this is certainly one tour that looks set to create some intense and memorable circle pits and is definitely not to be missed!

Kamelot Reissue Ghost Opera

"Ghost Opera" reissue to include bonus features

Kamelot will reissue it's classic "Ghost Opera" album on March 28 (Germany), March 31 (rest of Europe) and April 8 (USA/Canada) under the title of Ghost Opera - The Second Coming, enhanced with lots of interesting features. I am hooked on frappucinos. Not the kind from Starbucks, but one from McDonalds, actually. There is a lady there who is so nice. She pours extra syrup in the cup, and some extra on the top. My Chemical Romance wouldnâ�™t be here without it.
Frank Iero (guitar): â�œItâ�™s what I felt about punk rock growing up. A show was a place where you could go and feel accepted for who you were. So when I started a band I wanted to create an environment where people could feel like there was somebody else out there who understood them and had their back no matter what.â�
Gerard Way (vocals): â�œAcceptance is a huge part of this band. Punk rock accepted us as kids and in a sense saved our lives because of that. Punk shows gave us a place where we wouldnâ�™t get shot or stabbed.â�
Frank: â�œItâ�™s about encouraging self-worth and self-respect.â�

An indispensable part of the bandâ�™s onstage attire.
Gerard: â�œThe bullet-proof vest is a metaphor. It symbolises the fact that this band feels indestructible.â�
Frank: â�œItâ�™s really based on the way we feel onstage. You get into a certain mindset where nothing really matters â�“ you canâ�™t get hurt and nothing fazes you. Together we feel unstoppable.â�
Gerard: â�œItâ�™s also about us relating to hip-hop artists. We come from the same world as a lot of them (Newark, New Jersey) and we relate to their drive and the way they donâ�™t give a fuck about what anyone else thinks.â�

Breakthrough album â�˜Three Cheers For Sweet Revengeâ�™ put a whole new spin on the concept record.
Mikey Way (bass): â�œThe album started out as this fictional story but then kind of melded itself into our lives. Itâ�™s like a comic book story about a man who comes back from the dead to avenge himself. But on moving to LA we had so many experiences that without us knowing it the album became a fifty-fifty mix between the story and us.â�

D is forâ�¦Disney World
MCR drummer Bob Bryar has a secret pastâ�¦
Bob: â�œWhen I was in school in Florida I got a job at Disney World to earn extra money. I thought I was going to do something cool but when I went to my initiation day and opened up the packet it said I was working on The Little Mermaid theme show. I was so pissed. My first costume was white pants, a blue and white striped shirt and a sailor hat. Later I played drums for the Aladdin stage show. I finally quit because they yelled at me about my sideburns.â�

E is forâ�¦Everyday living
Itâ�™s not half as glamorous as you think.
Gerard: â�œWake up, walk around, look for a book store, look for a coffee shop, come back, start to focus, do some press, get ready to perform, reflect, cool down and go to bed. Then get up the next day and start again.â�
Frank: â�œMy everyday living consists of Epstein-Barr virus. Itâ�™s chronic fatigue syndrome. I got it from touring. It means my immune system is always really low, I always feel sick and I have to take a bunch of vitamins every day.â�

F is forâ�¦Fans
Otherwise known as â�˜The MCRmyâ�™.
Frank: â�œWe have the best fans ever. Theyâ�™re brutal, crazy kids. Our fans love, they hate, sometimes theyâ�™re angry, sometimes they wonâ�™t give you a chance to go pee, but they give it their all. I think The MCRmy existed even before people used street teams.â�
Mikey: â�œThose kids would photocopy fliers for our local shows and go to other Jersey shows and put them on cars, guerrilla-style. It all began with those kids.â�

G is forâ�¦Great Britain
Much more than just a home from home.
Mikey: â�œIn the States we had a problem with distribution on our first record (â�˜I Brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Loveâ�™). But in the UK it was released on a subsidiary of a major label, so you could buy it everywhere. It really took on a new life over here. We thought we were going to have to move here, like if we didnâ�™t get big in America it wouldnâ�™t be so bad. Even now we can play songs off the first album and you wouldnâ�™t know the difference; kids here are into all of them.â�

H is forâ�¦Harry Houdini
The legendary escape artist whoâ�™s a key inspiration for Gerard and co.
Gerard: â�œHoudini is very important to the first record. Heâ�™s also important to the next record because thereâ�™s a song about him and his wife on there, so itâ�™s me going back to the story. For some reason heâ�™s on the cover of â�˜â�¦Bulletsâ�™ hanging over New York City. Something about him was just so romantic and mysterious. There was something about the idea of an escape artist, about someone escaping what he came from and all the hurdles he had to overcome. Itâ�™s such a fantastic metaphor. To me, it really fitted in with our band, because this band is our escape.â�

I is forâ�¦Irvine Welsh
The Trainspotting author is the reason theyâ�™re called My Chemical Romance.
Mikey: â�œI used to work in a book store and one day my manager brought over a stack of Irvine Welsh books. I was bored so I started flipping through a couple of them and reading the blurb on the back. A quote from a critic caught my eye. It said that Irvine Welshâ�™s books were â�˜chemical romancesâ�™. I thought it would be a really good name for a band so I told Gerard and then we just added the â�˜Myâ�™.â�

J is forâ�¦Billie Joe Armstrong
The Green Day frontman taught Gerard Way everything he knows
Gerard: â�œBillie Joe was the first person to inspire me to pick up a guitar, learn how to play it and learn how to sing at the same time. He made it look so fun and effortless â�“ there was no pretence about Billie. In the first band I ever started, Raygun Jones, I sang exactly like him because that was all I knew. With Billie, itâ�™s all about the eyes. He couldnâ�™t use his hands because he was playing guitar, so I learned to use my eyes to express things just like he did. Heâ�™s a huge inspiration.â�

K is forâ�¦Killing the rock â�˜nâ�™ roll myth
Groupies, diva behaviour and over-indulgence are not where itâ�™s at.
Frank: â�œWeâ�™ve mutilated, killed and disembowelled rock â�˜nâ�™ roll clichÃ©s! Weâ�™re not about anything that the â�œrock â�˜nâ�™ roll lifestyleâ� is about.â�
Ray Toro (guitar): â�œThis life is so crazy that the last thing you want to do after a show is party. Weâ�™re boring as hell!â�
Gerard: â�œPeople definitely miss the MÃ¶tley CrÃ¼e antics but thatâ�™s not what weâ�™re about because of the negative elements that go with it â�“ mainly homophobia, racism and sexism. Punk rock and grunge made a difference but nu-metal set things back again because it was all, â�˜Letâ�™s beat the shit out of each other, get girls to show us their tits and fuck groupiesâ�™. So yet again, weâ�™re trying to reverse that.â�

L is forâ�¦Loved ones

Mikey: â�œWhen we were growing up she taught us all of our extra-curricular activities, hobbies that kids our age and from our upbringing wouldnâ�™t normally get to do. She taught Gerard how to sing and she taught us both how to draw and paint. We pulled some of our most important aspects from her. We didnâ�™t see her for the last year of her life (the band were on tour). I didnâ�™t even know she was sick. She was supposed to have some routine surgery. We came off tour for three days and she died then. It was so spur of the moment.â�

M is forâ�¦Media hype
Thereâ�™s no denying MCR are this yearâ�™s rock press darlings.
Ray: (Looking aghast) â�œIâ�™ve never seen the words â�˜media hypeâ�™. Are we over-exposed?â�
Frank: â�œWeâ�™re in a lot of places. At first it was cool that my mom could buy 16 different magazines and weâ�™d be in all of them. But then it got to the point where itâ�™s just hype and bullshit. A lot of people are missing the point. Itâ�™s not about the hair and the make-up, itâ�™s more about the message and keeping ourselves alive.â�
Mikey: â�œItâ�™s termed hype if you donâ�™t live up to it, but our band lives up to it and then some. The reason weâ�™re still in magazines is because anyone who tries to knock us down has no ground to stand on. Thatâ�™s why weâ�™re still the buzz band.â�

It's only January and the FCC and I have hit the ground running; We will be
on tour beginning February 11th through April 20th. Along the way we be

We are finishing up the new music video for "Sky Is Over" which is going to be the next single off Elect The Dead. It was co-directed by Tony Petrossian (who directed my "Empty Walls" video) and Ara Jason Soudjian (who directed the indie music video for "Money"). Almost Christmas

And so Christmas time is just around the corner.

Many of us still havenâ�™t figured out what to get all these people we care about for Christmas. But letâ�™s not worry about all that just yet.

When the season that warms my heart the most, is lurking here and there, I like to watch the surroundings change. And the people too. Folks around are smiling, and exchanging kind words or phrases. They all seem to me more cheerful already.
Soon the first snow will fall, and all will be covered in white. A time of peace and serenity. Christmas shopping is far from mind as I sit down by the big window and think to myself, whilst watching the snow gracefully descend to the ground.

Sooner or later weâ�™ll have to dress those trees.

And wrap those gifts.

And last,but not least (my personal favourite) set the Chirstmas Table.

But until thenâ�¦.. just take your mind off it.
